Publication Ethics Statement

The International Journal of Community, Solidarity and Responsibility is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher, and is guided by widely recognised principles of academic integrity and responsible scholarly publishing.

Duties of Authors

Authors are required to submit original works that have not been published elsewhere and are not under consideration by other journals. Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be provided. Plagiarism in any form, including self-plagiarism, is strictly prohibited.

Authors must ensure that:

  • The manuscript represents original research and accurate reporting of findings;
  • Data are presented truthfully without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate manipulation;
  • All sources and references are properly cited;
  • Authorship reflects significant contributions to the research and writing;
  • Any conflicts of interest are clearly disclosed;
  • Ethical approval is obtained where research involves human participants or sensitive data.

Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behaviour and is unacceptable.

Duties of Reviewers

Reviewers contribute to the quality of the journal by assisting editors in editorial decisions and helping authors improve their manuscripts. Reviewers must conduct evaluations objectively, fairly, and confidentially.

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Provide constructive, unbiased, and timely assessments;
  • Maintain confidentiality of the review process;
  • Identify relevant published work not cited by the authors;
  • Report any suspected plagiarism, duplication, or ethical concerns;
  • Decline review assignments where conflicts of interest exist.

Duties of Editors

Editors are responsible for ensuring a fair and impartial review process and for making publication decisions based solely on academic merit. Editorial decisions must not be influenced by personal, institutional, or commercial interests.

Editors must:

  • Evaluate manuscripts based on scholarly quality, originality, and relevance;
  • Maintain confidentiality of submissions and reviewer identities;
  • Avoid conflicts of interest;
  • Take appropriate action in cases of ethical misconduct;
  • Ensure the integrity of the academic record.

Ethical Oversight and Misconduct

The journal takes allegations of research or publication misconduct seriously. Cases involving plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate publication, citation manipulation, or other unethical practices will be investigated in accordance with ethical publishing standards. Appropriate corrective actions may include manuscript rejection, retraction, or notification to relevant institutions.

Commitment to Academic Integrity

By submitting to the International Journal of Community, Solidarity and Responsibility, authors, reviewers, and editors agree to adhere to these ethical principles. The journal is dedicated to fostering responsible research practices, transparency, and scholarly integrity in academic publishing.
